I wanted to include this one here as it's an interesting case study of how porn on the internet has evolved. Guys, if you want to know what browsing for porn on the internet was like 20 odd years ago, this is it. This was how it was - just a big long page of links. Each link would lead to another page that might be a page of thumbnails linked to full size pictures - a so-called thumbnail gallery. Or it might lead to a doorway page from where you could find another couple of thumbnail pages - this would be called a "freesite". Porn directories that listed "freesites" were known as "link lists" whereas those that listed thumbnail galleries were known as TGPs for Thumbnail Gallery Post.
Persian Kitty was one of the biggest link lists back in the day. If you were a webmaster building freesites to promote porn in whatever way you could, you would always be trying to get them listed on sites like this. The biggest ones had the lion's share of traffic, that is surfers looking for new porn to jack off to. By listing only the best freesites, the big link lists would keep surfers coming back and therefore retain all the traffic. They were the PornHubs of their day.
Of course we all know what has happened since then. Why bother with all that twatting around when you can just go to your favorite porn category on your favorite porn tube and watch all the porn you want? The big porn tubes have rendered sites like Persian Kitty almost irrelevant.
But such was the power of these old school names that even now, two decades on, PersianKitty.com still gets half a million visitors a month according to SimilarWeb. I guess that means if you click the link below it'll make it half a million and one.
Be warned if you do though. Aside from being a bit of a mess in terms of layout by modern standards, most of the links no longer work. It seems it's not being updated any more, or at least that's the impression I get. The domain doesn't even have an SSL certificate. It's sad to see in a way. Here is a very well known old school porn brand and it's just being wasted. Someone should buy it and do something worthwhile with it. Maybe a tube site of middle eastern porn to match the name. Is there enough porn from Persia to fill a tube site? Who knows but it would be better than what's there now.
